Show Me the County Spending

The Common Sense Institute of New Jersey has acquired the annual budget for all 21 of New Jersey’s counties. While counties are required to make the budgets available to the public, they are not ordinarily available online, and there is not a single site that brings together all of the budgets.

New Jersey’s tradition of home rule has yielded strong county and municipal governments, which are primary drivers of the state’s highest-in-the-nation property taxes.

During the next few months, CSI-NJ will be updating our Document Library with information regarding K-12 school districts and salary information for New Jersey public employees.
